Honoring a remarkable man for 50 years of dedication to the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) – 1964-2014

Celebrating 50 years

Dr. Martin RaynerDr. Martin Rayner served as an inspirational scientist, educator and mentor to generations of students and trainees at JABSOM and the University of Hawai‘i for half a century.

In recognition of his extraordinary service, colleagues, faculty, current and former graduate students, and staff are establishing the Martin D. Rayner, PhD, Neurosciences Research, Education and Training Fund. This fund will provide support for undergraduates, medical students, graduate students, research assistants and/or post-doctoral trainees who are conducting research in the neurosciences within the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology at JABSOM.

The goal is to provide funding so promising researchers can build their research skills, experience, and portfolios to become independently-funded researchers in the future.
