Title: Student Assistant for Alumni Events

Department: Office of Alumni Relations

Part-time: 12-19 hours per week

Pay rate: $10.70 per hour

Position Summary

The Alumni Event’s student assistant position is located on the University of Hawai‘i Mānoa campus and provides support for alumni-related events and partnerships under the supervision of the associate director of programs & partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compiles information to help organize, coordinate and prepare for various projects and events
  • Helps with pre-event preparation and post-event follow up
  • Corresponds with vendors, customers and partners via phone, e-mail, mail
  • Data entry
  • Prepares basic reports
  • Handles printed material (filing, printing, collating)
  • Performs other duties and tasks for Alumni Relations as requested

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Student must be enrolled for at least 6 credits or more within the UH system.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently
  • Self-motivated, diligent and goal oriented
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows-based operating systems, Microsoft Office XP and later
  • Ability to use basic office equipment (computers, fax, copy machines, etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Flexibility in daily duties and the ability to work in a dynamic work environment
