Special guests came together to kick-off JABSOM’s 50th Anniversary Year, and honor Dr. Santosh D. Sharma and the Kosasa Family for their generous philanthropic investments in the Dept. of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Women’s Health at the John A. Burns School of Medicine that together total $7 million.
The impact of these gifts is already being felt. Dr. Ivica Zalud as the current chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health, is the first Kosasa Endowed Chair. Dr. Steven Ward, Director of the Institute for Biogenesis Research and jointly appointed as the Director of Research for the Dept. of OB/GYN, has been selected as the first holder of the Lakshmi Devi and Devraj Sharma Endowed Chair.
