Dreaming big! Destined for great things! Future world leader! These ambitious sentiments echoed through the evening - from the inspiring speakers to the photo booth props created by the Lunalilo Scholars for fellow scholarship recipients to enjoy.

At this year’s Kapi‘olani CC Scholarship Mahalo dinner, more than 200 scholarship recipients and donors came together to celebrate the impact private support makes in the lives of community college students and their families. Students were grateful for the opportunity to personally thank the people who are helping them finance their dreams. Conversations were lively, and guests enjoyed meeting old friends and making new ones.

The delicious buffet prepared by students and faculty in the Kapi‘olani CC culinary program featured delicious dishes including the Signature Asian Salad, braised boneless short ribs, chicken marsala and a chocolate hazelnut cake. Inspiring speakers included Cathy Rubasch who shared a moving letter from scholarship recipient Kanoe Kahaawai.  Guests also heard from Dr. Diane Paloma, Director of the Native Hawaiian Health Program at The Queen's Health Systems who spoke about the many reasons why Queen’s invests in the community through scholarship support.

Mahalo to our generous donors who help our students dream big and fulfil their destiny for great things!
