Chancellor Doug Dykstra and Windward Community College hosted the 2011 scholarship reception to connect student recipients with donors. This event provided an opportunity for donors and recipients to share how giving, or receiving a scholarship affected them personally.

The event also created an opportunity for donors to meet informally with one another to discuss the needs of the College and their philanthropic inspiration.

During the program we heard from Anuhea Jumawan, a scholarship recipient, and Professor Paul Field, a faculty member who is also a donor. They spoke about how meaningful receiving and creating a scholarship is.

Scholarships are transformative instruments that touch countless lives through the lifetime accomplishments of student recipients. These promising students are the future leaders and workforce of Hawaiʻi, and the donors are the visionary architects of that future.

Mahalo to all our donors!
