Native Hawaiian Health Training Scholarship Recipient
(Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) — The Queen's Health Systems has added to their 2006 investment of $25,000 for scholarships helping students in the healthcare industry's future. Through their new gift of $50,000 more Kapiʻolani CC students enrolled in the health program will receive much needed financial assistance.
"The efforts of the first round of scholarships proved to be tremendously valuable. The amount was doubled to ensure that both first year and second year students would be able to move through completion of their programs," Diane Paloma. "The purpose of the scholarships is to increase the number of Native Hawaiians in allied health fields in hopes that they will serve the community of Hawai'i. Each student selected demonstrated a commitment to the Native Hawaiian community and Hawaiʻi community at large. These are the people we want to see working in our local health care industry."
