Details

Grants will be awarded in support of promising young investigators in the early stages of an independent research career working on a critical problem in brain science. Up to six grants will be awarded to help advance a research career that will have an important influence on the study of the brain. Applicants for must demonstrate their ability to solve significant problems in neuroscience, which may include the translation of basic research to clinical practice.

Eligible applicants must work as an independent investigator at a nonprofit research institution in the U.S., hold a faculty position at the rank of assistant professor, and have served at that rank for less than four years at the application deadline (exceptions may be made for parental leave). Candidates may not hold another award from the McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience that would overlap in time with the Scholar award.
