Grants will be awarded to assist anesthesiologists in developing the skills and preliminary data needed to become independent investigators in the field of anesthesia patient safety. APSF/FAER is interested in funding patient safety research directly relevant to the perioperative care of patients, as well as chronic pain and critical care medicine.
Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or holders of an H-1 visa with minimum of three years remaining; be graduate physicians with an unexpired, permanent, unconditional, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathy in at least one state or jurisdiction of the U.S.; be certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or in the examination system; be active members of the American Society of Anesthesiologists; and hold or be eligible for full-time faculty positions in a department of anesthesiology (primary appointments only) at U.S. academic institutions.
Letters of Intent are due by January 1, 2022. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application by February 28, 2022.
