The Helmsley T1D Program will fund studies that aim to understand how the environment experienced during prenatal development influences development of islet autoimmunity during childhood. Of specific interest are research plans that include establishing a cohort during pregnancy, including required supportive infrastructure, designed to address a specific hypothesis(es) around prenatal environment and islet autoimmunity, including related to protection from disease initiation; collecting and analyzing clinical and/or environmental data; and collecting and analyzing human samples.
Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal due June 1, 2022.
