For more than a century, the University of Hawaiʻi has worked hard to make higher education accessible to all. Whether through one of the seven community college campuses or one of the three four-year campuses, UH is expanding its efforts to attract the most promising students, regardless of their financial circumstances.
As college costs continue to rise, the amount of private support for students must as well. Gifts to scholarships and student aid help us to retain our best and brightest and to provide access to a life-changing higher education experience for our students.
Men of Strength (MOS), a campus organization at UH Hilo is dedicated to ending violence and is gaining momentum thanks to a grant from Verizon Foundation.
In honor of Andrews' generosity, David Kanashiro is working with the UH Foundation Office of Estate and Gift Planning and his estate plan to establish the Arthur Lynn Andrews Regents Scholarship Endowment to support students chosen as Regents Scholars. Selected students will receive a full tuition scholarship for four years of undergraduate study, allowing them to focus on school without the added financial stress.
It’s almost unheard of for a freshman to work in the labs here as a research assistant, but I was able to snag this marvelous job before the semester even started and that was mainly due to the experience I had gained from the PaCES program.
