Jeff and Lauren Sánchez Bezos have donated $3.5 million to support Maui’s recovery after the 2023 wildfires. The gift includes $1.5 million for Lahainaluna High School students, helping them stay in school amid displacement and loss, and $2 million for research on land stewardship to reduce future wildfire risk.
