Applications are invited for the Young Investigator Award which will provide grants to early career faculty in support of innovative and original, preclinical, translational, and/or early clinical research projects.

Awards will support junior faculty who have demonstrated exceptional promise and have some record of accomplishment in research pertaining to celiac disease. Projects must focus on the pathophysiology, epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or patient outcomes of celiac disease. Applicants who are physician-scientists, female or from racial/ethnic groups underrepresented in biomedical research are strongly encouraged to apply.

AFSP Suicide Research Grants will support studies aimed at increasing the understanding of the causes of suicide and factors related to suicide risk, or that test treatments and other interventions designed to prevent suicide. At least one suicide outcome measure must be included in all grant projects.

Grants will be awarded in support of faculty or postdoctoral research. Areas of interest identified by the fund include studies to develop, refine, evaluate, or disseminate interventions and preventive/intervention to address social, psychological, behavioral, or public health problems affecting children, adults, couples, families, and communities with outcomes that have the potential to add to the knowledge base of services and program development.

Applications are invited for the Midcareer Investigator Research grant program for seed money for new research related to the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation with the potential to extend an established investigator's work in new directions.

Grants will be awarded for basic, translational, and clinically oriented research on the causes of, or treatments for glaucoma. Two grant opportunities are available:

Applications are invited for the Lawren H. Daltroy Preceptorship in Health Communication, established with the aim of improving patient-clinician interactions and communications.

Applications are invited for research in support of the discovery and/or validation of biomarkers that are relevant to the development of therapies for patients with PMD. Proposals that are focused on biological (e.g., CSF), imaging (e.g., MRI, OCT), or functional (e.g., VEP) biomarkers are particularly encouraged.

A single grant will be awarded in support of the Biocodex Microbiota Foundation's 2021 theme: gut microbiota and its impact beyond the digestive system. The program is open to U.S.-based, early-career investigators; the selected recipient can apply it toward a new or existing study.

Applications are invited for programs that serve young women who are disadvantaged by poverty, discrimination, geographic isolation, lack of comprehensive sex education, hostile public policy, or other factors with potential to lead to inadequate sexual and reproductive health. Priority will be given to new programs, initiatives, or innovations within already successful programs.
