School Of Architecture Alumni Endowment Reaches $100K
Honolulu — On April 29, members of the University of Hawaiʻi School of Architecture Alumni Association (UHSAAA) celebrated their fundraising success in support of the UHSAAA Scholarship Endowment Fund. Fundraising for this scholarship began in the 1980s and their recent gift of $69,400 brings the endowment fund total to $100,000.

Childhood obesity is one of the most pressing public health issues today and has become the most common chronic disease in childhood; 31.7% of American children 2-19 years of age are now overweight or obese. Data suggests that obesity among Hawaiʻi's children is even worse. (Ogden 2010; Pobutsky 2006)
Architecture School Turns 30 & Creates Leighton Liu Scholarship
(Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) — The School of Architecture at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa recently announced the creation of the Leighton Liu Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship, established with gifts from friends and alumni totaling $35,000, honors former Associate Professor Leighton Liu who retired last year after dedicating nearly 40 years to the School.
